I grew up in the countryside, where I used to get involved and help my parents with work around the house. Moving to a city and working in an office took away, for a while, the hands-on work I was accustomed to while growing up.

When I bought my own house in UK, I began tackling DIY projects step by step. From digging up the garden and laying turf to creating planters and water features.

When the pandemic and lockdown started in 2020, I found myself heavily involved in DIY to keep myself occupied, safe at home, and motivated. I'm pleased with how my deck, pergola, and water features turned out, especially when I look back at the initial pictures when there was only mud and stones.

The first video below shows how our garden was transformed at the end of summer 2020, and the rest of the videos document our progress over the years. None of this would have been possible without the help of my wife and cousin, for which I am grateful. Take a look, and I hope you enjoy it!

The video below is about how we created the deck and pergola. I used 3D modelling to view and decide the layout.

On one of the trips back home to Romania, I have seen a hexagon planter design that for some reason got stuck in my head. I couldn't stop till I put a scheme together and created something similar for our home. Video below.

One of the first project I worked on when the lockdown started, March 2020.
